...life in pictures. One a day to commemorate something that made us smile, laugh, think, cry, learn, live, love, laugh... huh, I already said laugh.

ALIVE! One night of watering and Tada, back to life. Literally, watered it before heading to bed, woke up and took the picture. Not joking, our plant is amazing.

Winter Camping
The most awesomely miserable (or miserably awesome) weekend of my life. After sleeping in a tent, in 13 degree weather, and waking to find my entire sleeping bag lined with frost, I was sure I was going to die. But when else is it perfectly acceptable to roast socks over an open fire, think nothing of wiping snot all over your gloves, wear a hat for 3 days straight, and not brush your teeth or apply deodorant for the entire weekend? Only in the winter WILDERNESS.

Science RULES!
It was the Cambridge Science Fair today! This student raced a battery operated car against a solar powered car and then compared the types of energy. On his poster, he compared chemical energy to Derrick Rose because it is fast and powerful. He compared solar energy to Miss Kistler because it is slower but long lasting. LOVED IT! He won first place, by the way. (Don't worry, I was not the judge).

Sweatpants.
When we met Alicia, she did not even wear sweatpants in her own house before bed time.
Today, she showed up for dinner and games with friends in sweatpants.
Positive peer pressure at its best.
Congratulations.
(Next thing we'll know she will be singing karaoke by herself and dancing on stage with no inhibitions;)

Porch Camping
In preparation for winter backpacking next weekend, we needed to test our bags. No better way than to sleep out on the balcony under the stars...er...smog. Other than the midnight street fight, and waking up every half hour or so to double check that you haven't been stolen by a crazy, the night was a success!

Marathon.
And the training begins, kinda.
It was WAY to nice outside not to go for a run.
Here we are...sweat and all.
P.S. We ARE both training for the marathon and running for a great cause. Check out our websites at - http://support.worldvision.org/goto/KatieRabe

Project Runway: Hospital Fashion
Today's activity was a hit.
We made our own Hospital Fashion including gowns, hats, gloves, and shoes.
A seven year old boy made an outfit for me...he was way to cool to create one for himself.
He then made a runway, decorated the playspace, and provided music for the Hospital Fashion Show.
Flower gloves will be the next fad, I promise.

A Day in the Life of Our Plant
It gets neglected and forgotten. It begins to wilt. It continues to be forgotten. Finally, when it is nearly dead, we remember it's existance. We frantically and diligently nurse it back to health for a few days. It is strong and healthy. The cycle restarts. (Check back in a couple days for a perky plant picture).

Cooper.
Cooper does not have an easy life.
In fact, everything that can go wrong has.
- Cooper has diabetes.
- Cooper gets an X-Ray.
- Cooper gets a CT scan.
- Cooper gets an MRI.
- Cooper gets an ultrasound.
- Cooper gets his port accessed
Thankfully Cooper is happy to share his experiences with the rest of the world.

The Yoga Ball
Trunk extensions may have become our new favorite workout routine. After trying them at a class at the gym (which resulted in me accidentally sliding off the ball, crashing into Katie's legs and knocking her off of her ball), we have begun practicing at home. It is impossible to complete a full set without cracking up. Working out is so fun.

Laser Tag.
It was Emma's birthday, so naturally we thought what would be more fun than playing laser tag?
We called ahead to make reservations.
They told us they were booked until after 8pm with little kids birthday parties...
Happy 28th Emma.

Amro
He comes twice a week for tutoring and inevitably says some of the most hysterical things. Some of my favorites:
"Where is your family? Are they on a field trip?"
- after walking in and seeing that Katie was not home.
Me: "You know who Sarah is right? She is usually here when you come over."
Amro: "Yes, she is your husband."

Unpredictable
That's the word for the weather this February. Nearly set a record with the blizzard at the beginning of the month. Then we hit a near record high a few days ago. Saw a few people with shorts and sandals. And now it's raining.
Good thing we bought umbrella hats from a man on the side of the road.
